Rubies in the Rubble Gleaning

Rubies in the Rubble is a B-Corp dedicated to fighting food waste by turning misshapen and surplus fruit and vegetables into condiments. Due to a late harvest and commercial factors, one of their suppliers, a farm in Essex, had ripe apples but no pickers to harvest them. So the farmer invited Rubies in the Rubble and some other food-waste fighting organisations to “glean” the surplus apples. The apples were used in chutneys produced by Rubies in the Rubble and sent to the shelves of Waitrose, Selfridges, Fortnum & Mason, Lakeland, Harrods, Wholefoods and Sainsbury's.
